Boxer Profile: Jesse Wannemacher

“I’ve always been interested in (boxing) since I was little watching Mike Tyson fight back in the day. I never really did much about it so one day I just showed up at the gym to check it out for myself and the rest is history.”
Age: 24
Gym: Fergus Falls Boxing Club
Coach: John Hultin, AJ Lunde & Tyler Hultin
Height: 5′10
Weight: 152 lbs
Stance: Orthodox
Record: 20-10
Boxing style: Puncher, brawler
Titles: 2008 Region 4 Champion, 2010 Region 4 Champion and 2010 Uppermidwest Champion.
Training: Running 2.5-3 miles 4 times a week, 5 rounds on heavy bag, 5 rounds of speed bag, hour of cardio, mitts for 4 rounds, spar 8-10 rounds. I try to do something different everyday so I don’t get bored.
Future Plans: I’m planning on training really hard for Upper Midwest this year. I’d really like to win that again and I’m having my first amateur mma fight Feb. 4th also so I’m gonna be spending a lot of my near future in the gym pretty much 24/7.
Info: I ride bike a lot in the summer, snowboard in the winter, I’m a very active person so I’m always outside doing something, kayaking.. etc.

*Be sure to see Jesse Wannemacher in action this coming weekend. He will be in the main event against Dewayne Steward at the Wadena Armory.
